Follow these self-help steps if your technical environment does not meet the minimum system requirements for ANZ Direct Online.

Javascript must be enabled
|
JavaScript is a programming language run by the web browser. Javascript must be enabled to run the ANZ Direct Online application. It is also required to run this system checking tool.
This system checking tool checks whether Javascript has been enabled.
Follow these steps if you need to enable Javascript:
- Open Internet Explorer (web browser).
- Select Tools from the main Internet Explorer menu.
- Select Internet Options.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Select the Internet icon from the list of web content zones.
- Select the Custom Level button. A new Security Settings window displays.
- In this new window, scroll right down to Scripting > Active Scripting.
- Select the Enable option.
- Click OK on the Security Settings window.
- Click OK on the Internet Options window.

Pop-up blockers must be turned off
|
Pop-up blockers prevent new windows from automatically opening when you visit a website. This feature must be turned off or configured to allow popups for the ANZ Direct Online application.
This system checking tool checks whether your pop-up blocker is turned off.
Follow these steps to turn your pop-up blockers off in Internet Explorer version 6:
- Open Internet Explorer (web browser).
- Select Tools from the main Internet Explorer menu.
- Select Pop-up Blocker and then click Turn off Pop-up Blocker.
Important note: You may also have third party toolbars that may be blocking pop-ups. These are typically located under the main Internet Explorer address field (where you type website addresses). Please make sure that any toolbar pop-up blockers are turned off or configured to allow pop-ups from this site.

Cookies must be enabled
|
Each time you go to ANZ Direct Online, your browser will send cookies to the Bank’s server. The server uses this information to authenticate you and to present you with your organisation’s view of the application e.g. your organisation’s account information and transaction data only.
This system checking tool checks whether cookies are enabled.
Follow one of these procedures to enable cookies:
- Open Internet Explorer (web browser).
- Select Tools from the main Internet Explorer menu.
- Select Internet Options.
- Click on the Privacy tab.
- Click on the Advanced button. A new Advanced Privacy Settings window displays.
- In this new window, tick the Override automatic cookie handling checkbox.
- For First-party Cookies, choose Accept.
- For Third-party Cookies, choose Accept.
- Click OK on the Advanced Privacy Settings window.
- Click OK on the Internet Options window.
Make ANZ Direct Online a Trusted Site – Alternative Procedure
- Open Internet Explorer (web browser).
- Select Tools from the main Internet Explorer menu.
- Select Internet Options.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Click on the green tick Trusted Sites icon.
- Click the Sites button. A new Trusted Sites window displays.
- In this new window, type "https://www.anzdirect.co.nz" in the Add this Web site to the zone field.
- Untick the Require server verification (https) for all sites in this zone checkbox ( located at the bottom of this window).
- Click the ADD button., so that the typed URL appears in the list of "Web sites."
- Click OK on the Trusted Sites window.
- Click OK on the Internet Options window.

Internet Explorer version 7 (or later) or Mozilla Firefox version 3.5 (or later) must be installed
|
ANZ Direct Online is accessible via a web browser. Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) v 7 or later and Mozilla Firefox v 3.5 or later have been extensively tested and validated for use with ANZ Direct Online. At this time, no other browsers are tested or supported by the Bank. Non-recommended browsers can cause problems when running ANZ Direct Online.
If you do not have the recommended version of Internet Explorer, please download and install IE for free from the official Microsoft site.
Or, if you do not have the recommended version of Mozilla Firefox, please download and install Firefox for free from the official Mozilla site.

You must be using the correct operating system
|
ANZ Direct Online has been extensively tested and is supported on Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.

|
ANZ Direct Online requires Adobe Acrobat version 7 (or above).

If you do not have the recommended version of Adobe Acrobat, please download and install it for free from the official Adobe site.

You must be able to access SSL pages
|
SSL is an abbreviation for Secure Sockets Layer, a protocol which provides encrypted communications over the Internet. SSL is used on ANZ Direct Online web pages to protect sensitive information. SSL ensures that no other website can assume identity of the original secure site. Your system must be able to access SSL pages in order to run the ANZ Direct Online application.
This system checking tool detects if you are able to access SSL pages.
Follow these steps if you cannot access SSL pages:
- Open Internet Explorer (web browser).
- Select Tools from the main Internet Explorer menu.
- Select Internet Options.
- Click on the Advanced tab.
- Tick the Use SSL 2.0 checkbox under the Security heading.
- Tick the Use SSL 3.0 checkbox under the Security heading.
- Click OK on the Internet Options window.

Java must be installed and Java applets must open
|
ANZ Direct Online requires Sun Runtime Java (J2RE) (version 1.6.0_05 or above) to be installed.
This system checking tool checks whether you have the correct version of Sun Runtime Java (J2RE) installed.
If you do not have the recommended version of Java, please download and install it for free from the official Java site.
ANZ Direct Online has applets, which are software components of Sun Java Runtime.
This system checking tool checks whether Java applets in ANZ Direct Online open and operate as they should.

Check you have enough bandwidth
|
To run ANZ Direct Online efficiently requires sufficient bandwidth. It is recommended that you have a minimum of 256 Kb per second.
This system checking tool measures the time it takes to download a block of data. Insufficient bandwidth can hinder the running of the ANZ Direct Online application.
Please note: This check is indicative only. Contact your Internet Service Provider for more information on bandwidth.
